With love and gratitude to our generous partners at BART, we are delighted to share that our Mother’s Day event at the Women and Children's Reentry Campus (WCRC) was a resounding success! It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt moments. A brunch buffet, “mock” mimosas, and thoughtful gifts and treats created an atmosphere of celebration and hope for all the women participating and serving alike.
Family members joined in an afternoon of fellowship and food, co-hosted by Lt. Anisa McNack and Michele Lazaneo, alongside other members of the BART Police Leadership. The event celebrated motherhood and shared stories of resilience and the power of overcoming adversity. Lt. McNack and Ms. Lazaneo shared personal experiences and expressions focused on reestablishing one's life purpose and meaning after tragedy and trauma. Their words were inspiring and brought a sense of unity and understanding among all attendees.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Gwen Austin (BOSS Community Engagement Manager) for facilitating the long-anticipated connection to the BART Police Department, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this day special for the wonderful families in our care. Your support, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply being there, made a world of difference. ~ Dr. Maisha Scott, BOSS Director of Criminal Justice Programs

A special thank you goes out to the WCRC staff for their hard work and dedication!
