BOSS Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

BOSS provides essential services and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, and other social disadvantages - this work offers an array of volunteer and internship opportunities that allow individuals to make a positive impact by contributing their time, skills, and passion towards creating lasting change.




Volunteer Opportunities at BOSS:


Volunteering at BOSS offers a unique chance to directly engage with individuals in need and contribute to their well-being.


Roles include:


1. Shelter Support: Assist in BOSS shelters, offering support and companionship to individuals experiencing homelessness. Help with meal preparation, organizing activities, and providing a safe and welcoming environment.


2. Communications: Volunteer as a specialist in storytelling, video editing, and blogging. Share your expertise in content creation or take a deep dive into market research to identify trends and topics related to homelessness, safety and justice, and community development.


3. Community Outreach: Engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about BOSS programs and services. Assist in organizing events, fundraising campaigns, and community drives to gather resources for those in need.


4. Administrative Support: Offer your administrative skills to support BOSS operations. Assist with data entry, grant writing, social media management, or other tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the organization.





Internship Opportunities at BOSS:


Here are a few areas where you can intern at BOSS (internships may be paid or unpaid, depending on the program and available funding - workstudy credit may be available per school specifications):


1. Social Work: A limited number of roles working alongside experienced case managers are available (supervised by the BOSS Clinical Director) to provide direct support to individuals and families in need.


2. Program Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of BOSS programs. Help with research, data analysis, and proposal writing to ensure the organization's services align with the evolving needs of the community.


3. Communications and Marketing: Assist BOSS in spreading their message of hope and impact. Gain experience in creating content, managing social media platforms, designing promotional materials, and executing communication strategies.


4. Grant Writing and Fundraising: Collaborate with the fundraising team to collect needed supplies, raise funds from the community, and research available funding sources.
