BOSS and Oakland Private Industry Council (PIC) recently collaborated to hold a safe and service-rich outdoor Job Fair for people seeking work. Held at Defremery Park in Oakland, the event hosted tables by 7 service providers and 15 local employers, who talked with Fair attendees about jobs available in their companies, discussed the skills and experience needed for different jobs, and provided job applications and tips for a successful job search.
The event was incredibly successful, with over 100 people accessing resources and information, and making personal contact with employers that have open positions. Thank you Oakland Private Industry Council (PIC) for inviting BOSS to be part of this important event, and to everyone who participated!
To engage with the BOSS Career Training and Employment Center (CTEC) by talking with job applicants about available jobs in your company or even doing one-on-one mentoring, contact Brandon at bcooper@self-sufficiency.org or 510-844-8221.
