EKC Technology/Dupont Gives Back!

The BOSS South County Homeless Project (SCHP) provides emergency shelter and support services nightly to 24 homeless individuals with mental health issues. The project receives generous support from neighbors and community members, including most recently, employees at EKC Technology/DuPont.

Expains Emi Brown, Program Specialist/Office Manager, “Our history with the A Street location is that we used to donate food items from company events. This year we decided to do something to support the A Street property.”

Every year, EKC/DuPont employees put together a ‘Community Involvement Plan’ to benefit local organizations – activities may include food or toy drives, or collecting other needed goods, participating in walk-a-thons, and more. Past activities have been undertaken to support HARD, The Kids Breakfast Club, Cherryland Elementary School, and others.

So Emi contacted John Darby, then SCHP’s Site Coordinator, and asked about the program’s current needs. EKC/DuPont employees then conducted a drive to collect those items, and delivered everything to SCHP to support the homeless men and women who live there – blankets, toiletries, Target gift card, and cash donations.

Donations for SCHP from the wonderful employees at EKC Technology/DuPont!

“EKC Technology/DuPont is a wonderful corporate citizen,” adds Emi. “Our employees are very generous when it comes to participating in these activities and donating towards good causes.  It truly is our pleasure and honor to be able to help out!”
