Earlier this month, the crew of BOSS’s Career Training and Employment Center (CTEC) held its first pop-up assistance event at Eastmont Mall in Oakland, providing information and assistance to individuals looking for employment.
Established in 2014, CTEC is funded by Alameda County Probation and California Wellness Foundation to provide innovative, highly successful employment assistance to citizens returning from incarceration – including immediate transitional work experience, skills training, resume writing, job search assistance, mentoring, and monthly job fairs where participants meet one-on-one with local employers.
The pop-up was the first event in a new initiative to intensify outreach and reach more job seekers – similar events will be held every Tuesday going forward, from 1-4 pm at 89th & International Blvd. in Oakland.
For more information about CTEC, to train or hire CTEC participants, or to volunteer by teaching job skills or mentoring, call (510) 419-0669.
