Celebrating New Careers – CTEC Graduation Feb 24!

Careers Are Turning Lives Around

Please Join Us!! Having a living wage job is essential in our society. On February 24th, we honor men and women who have worked hard, overcome incredible challenges, and are now gainfully employed!

The BOSS Career Training & Employment Center (CTEC) in downtown Oakland is a place where individuals facing multiple barriers to employment can go to learn new skills and meet with with possible employers in order to find a great career path. CTEC staff works with participants to discover their hidden interests and talents – especially those that lend themselves to living wage careers! BOSS gives CTEC participants immediate temporary employment within our programs, providing on-the-job work experience and professional references, to support their efforts to secure gainful employment outside of BOSS. This amazing program is celebrating its fifth graduation event since July 2014, helping nearly 200 individuals secure jobs and new paths.

February 24th will feature Keynote Speaker Al Sasser, a former lifer who now speaks to individuals and groups in the community on issues of incarceration, reentry, and justice, and Oakland Vice Mayor and District 4 Council Member Annie Campbell Washington ~ and performances from Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and singer Jackie Anderson – plus much more!
