Meekland Open House

BOSS’ Meekland House is a Permanent Supportive Housing unit for young adults ages 18-24. The program was recently converted from transitional housing (up to 24 month stays) to permanent housing, and we want to celebrate its rebirth with a special Open House for the community!

This event will also be showcased as part of the East Bay Housing Organizations’ Annual Affordable Housing Week!

Please join us – this is a free community event!

  • Tour the program
  • Meet BOSS Board and staff
  • Light refreshments & networking

The young people housed at Meekland have faced serious hardships such as family abuse or neglect, mental illness, criminal justice involvement, or other challenges – they have little to no family support system to help them through the transition from child to adult. At Meekland, they are building a supportive community, encouraging each other to achieve new goals – education, employment, healthy relationships. The goal of this makeove rhas been to provide a safe and attractive living space where the residents can gather to socialize and where we host parties, meetings, and group counseling sessions, and the office where youth meet with staff counselors.

You can donate to support a much-needed interior makeover through the Meekland Makeover Crowdrise page. Check out our Facebook Event Page to RSVP or contact Sonja Fitz at either sfitz@self-sufficiency.org or 510.649.1930 X1008.
