Two of CTEC’s participants are moms-to-be!
Having a child is a big decision. It changes your life forever. A baby shower is a community observance, a time to give advice, and diapers. A time for celebration and hope. A time to show support.
The BOSS Career Training & Employment Center (CTEC) does many of these same things every day for the community, so it makes perfect sense that they would throw a Baby Shower for two CTEC participants to mark, celebrate, and support them !
Marnicka is having a girl. She is also a graduate and valedictorian of the CTEC program from October 2015. She worked for St. Vincent de Paul as a Program Aid. She received a 3-in-1 playpen, changing table, and bed from BOSS to help her transition into her newest job: Mom.
Shaniah is having a boy. She completed her transitional work assignment working as a CTEC Program Aid. She will return to the BOSS CTEC program after the son is born to complete the program and obtain a career. She received a stroller and car seat combo from BOSS.
BOSS supported these women and their families by hosting the dual baby shower, giving gifts to help them on their journey, and to help them welcome the newest tiny members of our community. More than 30 people showed up to help celebrate the moment, and there was plenty of food at the taco & nacho bar!
Congratulations, Marnicka and Shaniah, and all the best to you and your growing families!
