"TACKLING THE ROOT CAUSES OF POVERTY,
HOMELESSNESS,
INCARCERATION & VIOLENCE"

Your destiny is not defined by your zip code or the color of your skin.

Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) walks alongside individuals and families on the path from survival to stability — through housing, healing, career support, and community.

BOSS Pre-Trial Expansion Program

When someone is released while awaiting trial, the support they receive in those first days and weeks can change everything. BOSS's Pre-Trial Expansion Program places community-based case managers directly in the court system to connect individuals with the housing, health, employment, and recovery resources they need — right when it matters most.

In partnership with the Alameda County Probation Department and the Superior Court of California, we work with moderate and high-risk individuals to improve court appearance rates, reduce pretrial detention, and build a stable path forward.

Have an idea? A skill? A few hours? Let's build something together. BOSS welcomes individuals, businesses, and community groups ready to put their hands to work for housing, healing, and justice.

Haven for Black Healing

HBH creates spaces where individuals and families impacted by violence, incarceration, displacement, and systemic inequity can access healing, community care, and pathways to stability. Black wellness is essential infrastructure, and healing is how communities rebuild.

HBH fills this gap by offering community-based, culturally aligned healing spaces where people are supported with dignity and care. HBH centers the belief that Black wellness is essential infrastructure. Healing is not separate from public safety, reentry, or community stability. It is part of how communities rebuild.

BOSS holds many events throughout the year – from ribbon-cuttings and groundbreaking for new programs to open houses that showcase successful programs to special events held for program participants to fundraisers, resource fairs, and block parties.

Our commitment to building self-sufficiency and fostering community extends beyond our daily programs. We're thrilled to present our annual events, each a celebration of hope, resilience, and collective empowerment.
