If you are unfamiliar with this fantastic event, it is put on by The Companion Group. They invite groups (professional and private) to participate in pizza-making competitions and the ticket price includes all-you-can-eat samples! Last year saw spicy Indian curry inspired pizzas, traditional Italian inspired pizzas, and even desert pizzas (like s’mores pizza) and so very many more!
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase pizza-inspired cookware, or hand thrown pottery, as well as local craft brews on tap from Berkeley’s own Gilman Brewing Company, and Fieldwork Brewing Company as well as Petaluma’s Lagunitas too! For the kids there will be a children’s play area that includes face painting, games, and crafts! It really is a family event!
Tickets are available for pre-purchase online from Brown Paper Tickets and are only $10 ($11.34 with service fees)! A bargain as they will be $20 (cash only) at the door!
The best part of Pizzafest is that the ticket and beer sales all go to support the BOSS Children’s Learning Center (CLC). This is a safe place for children who are experiencing homelessness to get socialization, access to computers, and one-on-one tutoring. The 2nd Annual Pizzafest raised over $8,500!
The date has been announced, the teams have all been selected, the beer vendors have been scheduled, and the tickets are available for purchase! The only thing left is for you to get your tickets, and show up! You won’t even have to try to have a good time, it is almost guaranteed!
See You There!
